Rider specialties

For every rider we have computed 6 rider specialties. These are:
- One day races
- GC (General classifications)
- TT (Time trial)
- Sprint
- Climber
- Hills

The values for these specialties represent the total points accumulated in this specialty over their career on the Elite level. Junior races are not included.

One day races

The total for one day races is computed by the sum of PCS points in all one day races. The PCS point scale gives relatively high points for the winner and for the bigger races, which is a good representation for this specialty.

GC

The total for GC, general classifications, is computed by the sum of PCS points in all final GCs.

Time trial

The time trial specialty score is computed by applying a special point scale to time trials which gives points to more riders. Also, there is less difference between for example the WC time trial and a TT in the vuelta. The goal here is to measure time trial quality instead of overall rider quality.

Sprint

The career sprint score is computed by the sum of the sprint point scale in races with a profile score below 50 and a profile score final below 25.

Climber

The climber specialty score is computed by the sum of the climber point scale in races with a profile score above 100 or a profile score final above 75. The points for races with a profile score between 100 and 150 (PS Final between 75 and 100) are discounted at 50% as these overlap with the hills specialty.

Hills

The hills specialty score is computed by the sum of the climber point scale in hilly races. Included are races with a profile score between 50 and 175, and a profile score for the final between 25 and 125. Points for races with a profile score above 125 (or PS Final>75) are discounted at 50%, as this tends towards climbing.
