So far it is not the best season start for Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team, ranking 6th in the PCS Team season ranking. Still, with 17 victories so far and having the lead in the PCS Team ranking (12-month rolling ranking) it is far from dramatic. The team is leading the PCS ranking for a 98 weeks in a row, when BORA-hansgrohe was 2 weeks in the lead in May 2020. Before that, they were also leading for 89 weeks after taking over from INEOS Grenadiers on August 19th 2018.

At this point, UAE Team Emirates closed the gap to only 16 points. With team UAE riding both the Gran Premio Migual Indurain and the Ronde van Vlaanderen, they could very well take the lead by the end of Sunday. And because the points of races are counted once, the team need to match at least the points scored by Kasper Asgreen (winner), Florian Sénéchal (9th) and the other team members, in total 371 points versus only 49 points scored by team UAE in Vlaanderen.

Not only UAE Team Emirates has closed the gap with Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl. Also Jumbo-Visma is very close, following 163 points behind. Ineos Grenadiers and Bahrain-Victorious are both within 800 points of the lead. It's been not this close for years in the PCS team ranking. Will the Ronde shake the ranking up or does Quick-Step steps up to their reputation and remain the leader in the ranking? You can follow the points scored per week in this statistic.
