Description
After an exciting Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields ME, with its short climbs, cobbled and unpaved sectors, the race was finished of with a mailbiting finish. Four riders -Christophe Laporte, Jasper Stuyven, Dries Van Gestel and surprise-of-the-day Biniam Girmay- were left to fight for the win in Wevelgem. The Eritrean rider outsprinted his companions to take a first African win in a World Tour race.
