Descripción
A novelty in the 1976 Ronde van Vlaanderen / Tour des Flandres: the (in)famous Koppenberg-climb was included in the race route for the first time. The climb was discovered by Walter Godefroot, winner of the race in 1968 and ten years later in 1978. On the steep slopes and rough cobblestones of the Koppenberg, almost everybody, even Eddy Merckx, was set to foot.
