Key events can be any memorable event, for example an impressive victory but also a major crash, bold solo or anything that makes for sporting memories.
A motivated Michel Pollentier, after just missing out on a Milan-Sanremo victory a week earlier, attacked on the Alsemberg in the 1980 Fleche Brabançonne . Tactically a smart move, with strong team mates Sean Kelly and Claude Criquielion behind. After a solo of 25 kilometres, he arrived solo with 45 seconds on runner-up Kelly.
