Initially, Johan Price-Pejtersen won the race. After the race, the commisaires disqualified him for using a bicycle lane/sidewalk, awarding the title to Matthias Skjelmose. In January 2025, the Danish Cycling Federation, after protests by Price-Pejtersen, reverted the disqualification, handing back the title.
However, the UCI's disciplinary commission concluded that the Danish Cycling Federation's Disciplinary Committee did not have the authority to reverse the race commissaire's original decision, as national championships are held under the UCI's rules. Therefore, Skjelmose retained his victory.
