Story of the day
Stage 3 of Paris–Nice was a team time trial where the time of the first rider across the line determined the result. Team Visma | Lease a Bike set the early benchmark with a strong ride, finishing with three riders together. Their time was later improved by Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team and then by Lidl–Trek, where both Daan Hoole and Juan Ayuso crossed the finish line solo after strong final efforts.
In the end, INEOS Grenadiers claimed the stage victory after setting an exceptionally fast time at the first intermediate check and limiting their losses on the final stretch to the finish. Thanks to time bonuses secured in earlier stages, Juan Ayuso moved into the overall lead.
