At 97 km, the police requested that the race be neutralized due to safety concerns. They stated that for a stretch of approximately 18 km, proper security measures were not in place. As a result, the race was neutralized and later restarted. After the restart, the peleton did not wish to continue racing under the given conditions. Following discussions between the organizer and the Commissaires’ Panel, it was decided to neutralize the race in terms of the General Classification by time. Only the Points and King of the Mountains (KOM) classifications continued as normal. Riders who contested these sprints were awarded points accordingly.
