UCI Nation ranking over the Olympic selection period (19th October 22 - 17th October 23). This is the sum of UCI points of the best 8 riders per country.
The position of nations on this ranking determines the number of riders a country may select for the Olympics (Positions 1-5: 4 riders, 6-10: 3 riders, 11-20: 2 riders, 21-45: 1 rider).
Countries which do not qualify through the UCI Nations Ranking can qualify via the World Championships or the (African, American, or Asian) Continental Championships (Road Race). The first two countries per championship get one (1) spot. The host country France is garantueed 2 start positions.
There are 90 start places, unused places are filled by countries after position 45 on the country ranking (indicated with a *).
For the time trial the top-25 countries receive one spot. The 10 best countries at the Worlds TT receive an extra ticket.
