Each of the five monument have their characteristics. Milan-SanRemo has it's length and the final capo's, Roubaix has it's cobbles, Liege and Lombardia favors the climbers in different periods of the year and Flanders has it's many short intense climbs and cobbles. We take a look at how these properties are translated into the statistics.
Riders finishing within 1 minute
It is interesting to see how many riders finish within one minute of the winner. On a hard parcours the lesser riders find themselves typically further down on time. Looking at data from the last 20 years we see that Milan-SanRemo has 54 riders finishing within one minute of the winner.
